HRV

HRV

Heart Rate Variability (HRV) is a measure of the variation in time between heartbeats. The variation is controlled by the part of the nervous system called the autonomic nervous system, which functions without us thinking about it. The autonomic nervous system controls heart rate, breathing, blood pressure, and digestion.

What does HRV show?

Data has shown that there is a relationship between a low HRV and an increase in depression and anxiety, as well as an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. A high HRV typically is linked to better cardiovascular health, and can be seen in those who get enough sleep and physical activity.
